Background

The engineering process often starts with problem. A complex set of disposal problems must be linked with just the right solution. Always looking out for their clients needs, engineers must weight all the available options. Using AdvanTex and other on-site disposal solutions, R.C. Worst & Co., Inc. can help to link problems to solutions for your clients. Please take a look at the range of solutions offered below.

What Makes AdvanTex the Best Choice for Your Client's Project?

A textile based packed bed filter holds many advantages over conventional ISF, RGF and other suspended growth or membrane products

Reduced Footprint

With loading rates of between 25 and 50 gallons per square foot per day, textile filter beds are over 5X smaller than comparable recirculating gravel filter solutions.

Lower Cost of Onwership

With electric motors running only between 20 to 60 minutes per day vs. power hungry blowers running 24/7/365, power costs per treated gallon can be a fraction using packed bed technology. Reduced sludge generation, 10-15 year pump life, and low operation labor costs can also make AdvanTex an excellent and inexpensive long term solution.

Equipment Scalability and Phasing Options

Full build-out is not planned for years? AdvanTex can be scaled to meet future demands as easily as adding an additional treatment unit.

Passive Treatment Technology

Because the treated water is recirculated over the media and then collected in the blend tank, temporary flow and waste strength surges have very little affect on treatment quality. Seasonal flow fluctuations are also handled by blending the incoming waste with waste that has been highly treated during the low flow period. In the attached media, the bacterial colonization quickly ramps up to meet demand.

Onsite Solutions of All Shapes and Sizes

Wastewater treatment systems come in all shapes and sizes. From single family dwelling units, to large subdivisions, we can provide the solution that supports you and your clients best interests. AX20 and AX20RT

Primarily suited for smaller residential and light commercial systems, the AX20 and AX20RT products are well suites when flows fall under 1500 GPD. The AX20 systems are very scaleable, but each unit is sized to handle a hydraulic flow of up to 500 GPD average, and 1000 GPD peak for short periods. The RT product is more than just a pod, but a complete recirculation and dose tank solution.

AX100 Systems

Commercial applications, smaller subdivisions, and schools or churches are the perfect application for the AX100 module. Containing 100 ft2 of media, each AX100 module can treat up to 2500 GPD. The AX100 modules are also very scalable, just ad another module as the flow increases. Between 2500 and 10,000 GPD is the normal flow range for the AX100 unit.

AX-Max & AX-Moble

With up to 300 ft2 of textile surface area, the AX-Max and AX-Moble products are the heavy hitters. With that said, through versatility of design alone, the Max and Moble products can handle low flows as well. These come is various lengths to accomodate a very wide range of flows, between 1000 and 50,000 GPD. The AX-Max and AX-Moble also come completely preassembled with pumps, piping, floats and blowers reday to go. This means less field assembly and less change of an error during installation.

Information is Key

With full support from Orenco Systems, Inc., R.C. Worst & Co. can get you all the information to help your project fly through Idaho DEQ approvals. We have been through the process, and we can move your project quickly through to approval.

Versitile Technology

AdvanTex is scale-able and easily designed for expand-ability when flows increase over time. Packed bed filter technology has been used in many applications including:

  • Subdivisions - Planning is the key to successful land development. Often nitrogen limits stand in the way of desired density. AdvanTex can bring nitrate down to a level providing the mechanism needed to gain final approval.
  • Wineries - From California to New Zealand, Orenco has installed wastewater treatment systems at nearly 60 wineries. Our experience in this area can benefit you as well. Jim Ball Vineyards in Mendocino County, California, installed two AdvanTex AX100 units to treat processing waste from the winery and three AdvanTex AX20 units to treat domestic waste from the visitor's tasting facility.
  • Hotels and Resorts - The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott sits on the banks of the Colorado River and is the closest hotel to Arches National Park. Located far from any conventional sewer lines, the facility installed six AdvanTex AX100s to handle its seasonal wastewater flows of up to 30,000 gpd.
  • Resturants - The Paradise Cove Beach Café in Malibu, California upgraded its wastewater treatment system to use Orenco's AdvanTex AX100 system. This popular tourist destination required a visually subtle solution with no odors. The design was challenging: high strength variable flows and severe space constraints.
  • Campgrounds and RV Parks - Orenco has provided treatment systems for more than 150 campgrounds and RV parks. Year-round usage, seasonal, or remote, we have a solution for you.Camp Meriwether is a Boy Scout vacation camp in Oregon with rustic lodges and cabins. The site's wastewater is handled by a watertight septic tank effluent pumping (STEP) system followed by an array of AdvanTex filters designed with a capacity of 10,000 gpd (38 m3/d).
  • Mobile Home Parks - Trask Mobile Home Park in Oregon needed an affordable wastewater solution. The project engineer selected a combination of watertight STEP (Septic Tank Effluent Pumping) and STEG (Septic Tank Effluent Gravity) collection, followed by two AdvanTex AX100 pods. Up to 10,000 gpd (38 m3/d) is dispersed subsurface on-site, all in a tidy, low visual impact installation.
  • Ski Resorts, Golf Courses, and Sport Facilities - "Wastewater" is a misnomer when it comes to ski resorts and golf courses. Our energy-efficient onsite treatment systems produce clear, clean, reuse-quality water. It only makes sense (and cents!) to turn that water into a resource for maintaining your outdoor facility.
